1. Has your image of Jesus changed during the project? How or Why not?
Yes my image of Jesus has changed during this project, because of the different activities that include looking at a range of images of Jesus. These activities have showed me that Jesus is portrayed as so many things, which makes me visualize a different image of Jesus.
2. What do you feel is the best way to portray an image of Jesus and why?
I think the best way to portray an image of Jesus is to follow what Jesus was like in the Bible, mainly because the bible is the only thing that describes what Jesus was like, so to create an image of Jesus you would most likely follow what he was like in the bible.
3. What have you enjoyed about the project so far and what would you do differently?
The part of the project that I have enjoyed so far is that most of the activities now are mostly group based, and the part of the project so far that I would want to do differently is to give the students more then 2 days to complete individual assessments.
1) What form of medium (music, art or literature ) allows you to best connect with Jesus and Why
The medium form of art, I think, is the best way to connect with jesus, because through drawing or painting Jesus, you can include your real emotional thoughts towards Jesus, you are also able to create what you think Jesus looks like with an artistic view. Finally you are also able to portray a message of your through the image, that can be shared with the whole world, and Jesus.
2) Why has Jesus been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history?
Because more and more people start to think more about what they think of Jesus, instead of just listening to what one person thought of and listening and following that one thought. So this enabled different opinions to be heard and more eventually it enabled people to portray Jesus as they think of him.
3) How is Jesus portrayed at Parramatta Marist?
Jesus at parramatta marist is portrayed as being the one spirit and soul that can help us with our troubles and worries towards anything, including schoolwork, sport, etc………
4) What artistic time period do you think best represents your image of Jesus and why?
I think that the early christian church time period best represents my image of Jesus, mainly because this was when people created the first images of Jesus and throughout the years people still stuck with the same concept towards how Jesus looks, so thats why I think this period represents the best image of Jesus.
5) Identify one image of Jesus that appeals to you. What do you like about the representation?
This image of Jesus really appeals to me because of how the artist represented Jesus as the loving and caring man that he is, also the colours and difference of shades really make it more appealing and realistic.
6) What factors currently shape your image of Jesus and why.
Factors that currently shape my image of Jesus are:
Investigate how jocelyn bell burnell discovered pulsars in 1967. Write a short account of this event.
Jocelyn Bell Burner attended Cambridge university, and during her first 2 years there she was assisting in the construction of an 81.5-megahertz radio telescope that was to be used to track quasars (A distant energy source which gives off huge amounts of radiation, including radio waves and X-rays). The telescope went into operation in 1967, and It was Jocelyn Bell’s job to operate the telescope and to analyze over 120 meters of chart paper produced by the telescope every four days. After many weeks of analysis, Bell noticed some unusual markings on the chart paper. These markings were made by a radio source too fast and regular to be a quasar, instead she had detected the first evidence of a pulsar.

I think the pheonix won’t really find anything that hasn’t already been discovered by other space probes that have landed on the surface of Mars.
2. Do you think as a planet we should be researching other planets? why?/why not?
I think we should, so if something in our galaxy that will cause total destruction, such as the sun blowing up, it will most likely to effect our planet earth, but if we were able to research other planets, we could be able to decide whether or not other planets are able to sustain human life, so that we are able to move to that planet and prevent being blown up along with the sun.

1. Analyse the way Language, structure and visual techniques have been used to attract the viewer, and make the product appealing.
This poster advertising ‘Nike’ attracts the intended viewers by using techniques, such as, Language, structure and visual techniques. These techniques are used to make the product that is being advertised more appealing and noticeable to the audience that they are advertising this product to.
Language is one the major technical parts of this advertisement; it has been used throughout this poster. Language has been used in different forms in this advertisement, such as, metaphors, similes, and persuasive devices such as slogans, adjectives etc…..
Language examples in this image are, such as:
· ‘I’m ready, your not, here I come’. This is obviously the slogan that Nike has used for this type of shoe, as it is targeting the audience in a way that being without this specific type of shoe they won’t be ‘ready’ for anything including sport, and more……, and that way it will persuade them to buy this shoe in order to become like this famous basketball player in the advertisement.
· The word written across the basket baller’s jumper ‘Lakers’ which is the team in the NBA that is representing Nike in this advertisement. This one word will persuade this team’s fans even more to buy this shoe as it is represented by their favourite team.
· The name of the shoe, ‘zoom Kobe I’. This is there as an important piece of information rather than to persuade or attract viewers.
· There is also the site, which stands out and will influence viewers to go to their website to do such things as order online, find more information, etc…
The structure of the advertisement refers to focusing on the celebrity (Kobe), and how these shoes refer to how he lives his life. This is done by using 4 out of the 5 sections of the poster, to just show this celebrity, doing things such as walking in the street, playing basketball, listening to some music, and in a car. These images of him are probably implying that these shoes are able to be worn when doing anything, Such as, driving a car and playing basketball, as in the picture, and this will persuade the audience even more to buy this shoe.
The main technique to this advertisement and any other advertisement is the visual appeal about it, and to make it visually appealing they used a layout, a colour scheme, including logos, a reading path, different shots and angles, and the lighting of the image.
These different visual techniques are represented in this image by:
· Laying it out so that it is if this basketballer has his whole life revolved around this shoe.
· Using a greyish, dull colour to represent the celebrities personal reflection to this shoe, also to make it look like he can’t stop thinking about this shoe.
· They have included their logo obviously to show the audience that this shoe belongs to the Nike brand.
· There are different shots and angles used in this advertisement, such as, close ups, low angle shots, full body shots, and mid shots are used to different perspectives towards how the shoe has effected the basketballer’s life.
· The lighting used for each section of the advertisement is so that the main subject of the image is lit up, so that it is represented as the important part of the image, while the background is dim or darkened so that the viewers will pay less attention to it and more to the main subject.
SUPER SIGHTINGSEEING
TOUR
GROUP
ADVERTISEMENT

ANALYSIS
This advertisement that I have found is advertising a particular tour group that goes by the name of the ‘Super Sightseeing Tour’.
This advertisement has used all the basic techniques, such as, using composition, colours, and also shots and vectors, to be more appealing and noticeable, so that it will attract the viewers.
The composition of this advertisement follows the structure of using a left and right, Top and Bottom, and also Centre and margin.
· The left side is the given ideology (attitude or belief), which in this advertisement shows us, and makes the viewers believe that, when joining this tour group you will travel around in a nice looking and comfortable coach (bus), and travel around places, such as, san francisco.
· The right/bottome of the advertisement ‘shows off’ the new information or product. In this case this advertisement is telling the viewers about some new information, which is that they now ‘pick up at south city and Airport hotels’, while giving out their phone number along with their website for viewers to make reservations for.
· The top of this advertisement shows the viewers the promises made by showing the places, in which you will visit throughout the tour, which appeals to the audience by telling them what they would be doing along the trip.
· Towards the centre point of the advertisement is the most important part of the advertisement, and in this case there is a rectangular box stating the name of their tour group that they made stand out by using a drop shadow along with using a bright colour.
Along with the composition of the advertisement, the colour of the advertisement helps in attracting the viewer’s attention, as it makes it more appealing visualy. This advertisement has used a mixture of two colours, which are yellow and blue. These two colours have a psychological meaning to them, which are:
· Yellow because it is the most visible colour of them all, and also because it’s high reflectance and brightness will catch any eye in any environment, it is also upbeat, modern and optimistic.
· Blue because it is associated with loyalty, it implies coolness and distance and is also a clean colour of elegance.
The vectors of advertisements are used to guide the ‘reading path’ of the viewers eyes around the image. The vectors almost always lead the eyes in a reading path that finished to focus on the product.
The reading path of this advertisement follows the movement of the wire connected to the site in the background, down to the bus, which is at a specific angle that make it almost look like it is looking at the right/bottom section of the advertisement, which makes the viewers follow that path until it reaches the focus point of the ad, which is in the top/left corner.
What contribution did the following scientists make towards the big bang theory?
- Walter Adams.
Walter Adams was the first, along with Theodore Dunham, to observe the effect of the cosmic microwave background (CMB).
- Ralph Alpher.
Alpher made the first attempt to calculate the abundance of elements created in the hot early universe and also predicted the temperature of the radiation left over from the Big Bang. Although this “cosmic microwave background” was discovered in 1964, Alpher’s contributions to the birth of cosmology went largely unrecognized.
- Robert Dicke.
The idea that the universe began with a big bang was first proposed in 1927, However Bob Wilson and Arno Penzias provided the real support of the big bang theory when they detected a faint signal that spread throughout all of space. Although Penzias and Wilson first detected this noise, called “cosmic background radiation,”(CBR) it was Robert Dicke who first proposed that such evidence of the Big Bang might still exist.
- What was Hubble’s involvement in space research?
Edwin Hubble’s involvement in space research was that he had discovered, and was the first man to show that the universe was indeed expanding.
- What does the telescope do?
The Hubble Space Telescope is a powerful orbiting telescope that provides a clearer and sharper image than other telescopes do. It is a reflecting telescope with a light-gathering mirror. The telescope is named after American astronomer Edwin P. Hubble, who made fundamental contributions to astronomy in the 1920’s.
Astronomers have used the Hubble Space Telescope to obtain images of celestial objects and phenomena in the universe, that is in detail never before observed, These include pictures of stars, and more……………………
- Where can the telescope be found?
The hubble space telescope can be found just above the earth orbiting it, while collecting high detail images.
- What is Hubble’s law?
The observation that any two distant celestial objects (e.g., galaxies) move away from each other at a speed v that is proportional to the distance d between them, due to the homogenous expansion of space. v=H0 * d
