1. Open and read the “How to write a critique” document in the resources menu.

Describe what a critique is.

A critique involves identifying the critical things about an article and resisting the temptation to describe rather than analyse. A critique is also made of four parts.

2. Outline the FOUR stages in a critique.

The four stages for a critique are such as,

·         An introduction

·         A summary of the article

·         Your analysis or critical commentary on the original text

·         Your evaluation or conclusion

3. Can a critique be positive? Discuss.

Yes, a critique can be positive, because the whole point of a critique is for the reader to analyse and discuss the accuracy of the piece of work, which doesn’t necassarily have to a bad analysation due to the fact that the information in the work could be accurate and very correct.

4. Critique the accuracy of the following articles:

The Beijing Olympics:

This article was very inaccurate, due to the information that they gave, like ‘that at the beijing olympics they are digging huge holes, and coveirng them with leaves, so that when the americans come they will fall in the holes’.

So from that, as I have said before, this article is very inaccurate.

2-year-old donkey basketball:

This article is inaccurate, again, due to the information that they put forward, such as, “a legendary donkey basketball legend has assurred that he would keep the donkey in ‘tip top’ condition as he would keep in the stable where the other donkeys are so he gets use to the smell, and more…”.

So from that, as I have said before, this article is very inaccurate.
